Here are some of the tricks which will help you search effectively in google.

• allintitle: keywords(replace with your keywords or keyphrases)  : If you type this you will get all the pages in google with the title name matching your query.
• allinurl: keywords( replace with your keyphrases or keywords) : If you type this in google search box you get all the search results which contains the keywords or keyphrases in domain name.
• filetype: type of the file + Keywords  If you use this in the search box , this command will list all the search results matching to the type of file. For example : filetype:pdf + contracts you get a list of pdf documents which contains the word contracts. Likewise you can search .xls, .doc, or any extension if there is some results for your keywords it will definitely show it.
• If you click show options you will have many options about what are the results you want to see like for example there will be options like Images, forums, News  and also time duration of the search results will be listed whether you want to see results just before 24 hours you can also specify a date range to search results.
• Set preference to 100 results, you will see a hyperlink called settings in the right hand corner of  google, click on it and set your preference and also make results open in window it saves lot of time, if you click on each search result it will open in new window.
• Use operators such as + symbol to join two keywords. It is very effective  when you are creative to use it. For example : I want results from forums for a particular keyword, I will type contracts + Show thread, this will list all the forums using the url showthread matching with the keyword contracts.
