Menopause - Final stage for reproduction:

Menopause is a final stage in the reproductive life of a woman and a usual part of the aging. It is the reducing stage of the menstrual series because of the depleting production of two main hormones in women, progesterone and estrogen. Function of uterus becomes inactive during this stage. Here is the cycle below that occurs in women.

Cycle of Menopause:Menopause (Age: 45-55) Impede production of estrogen and progesterone à Production of ovaries becomes reduced àMenstural cycle stops.

Symptoms and stages in Menopause

Menopause divided into various stages – Premenopause, perimenopause and post menopause. Post menopause is the last stage characterized by shutting down of periods in a woman.

Early stage of menopause brings changes in periods of women.A woman will not be aware of the symptoms of menopause at first. Later she finds changes in her behavior, her periods, her moods and her body. The following are the symptoms that takes place in women at the age between 40-55.

  • Abnormal type of bleeding
  • Often the body becomes warm
  • Because of warming up it sweats at night
  • Because of sweating at night, sleeping problem arises
  • Sleeping stops which results tiredness
  • Tiredness causes change in moods such as irritability
  • Vagina becomes arid and thin and so vaginal infections occurs
  • Tapering of bones (Osteoporosis) transpires.
  • Hair loss or contraction of hair takes place.
  • Painful during urination because of vaginal infection
  • Increase in body weight
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Less interest in intercourse due to change in moods
  • Depression in mind (Caused due to less production of estrogen)

Disorders that becomes worse during Menopause:

As we all know Menopause normally occurs in women at the age of 40-55 years old with the  following symptoms  above. These symptoms sometimes become worse in some women causing the following disorders.

  • Heart disease may be due to less production of estrogen although this one is rare to occur.
  • Osteoporosis becomes worse causing fractures
  • Memory loss due to extreme depression.
